A local art and performance space has landed two VicHealth grants in the latest round of JumpStart! funding
Platform Arts received $90,000 for two separate programs to be hosted at the Geelong studios
The studios will team up with INFINITY to deliver a 10-month workshop program for the Greater Geelong area, after being granted $40,000
90 participants aged between 8-25 will take part in the workshop which will build performance-making skills while exploring themes of identity and inclusion.
A further $50,000 will go towards YOOKAPA, a concept to build capacity and foster collaborative opportunities for First Nations artists.
The program will be led by First Nations artist Tarryn Love (Gunditjmara Keerray Woorroong), and it will build on the success of its 2022 pilot program.
YOOKAPA will include a series of workshops to support young and emerging First Nations artists to grow their practice and connect with Indigenous community and cultural traditions.
